One thing that I always loved about the Spanish was the pride they have for where ever it is they live.  If you’re in Madrid speaking to a Madrileño and you tell them in casual conversation that you’re heading to Valencia for the weekend, they will, guaranteed, exclaim with much movement of arms “but why?!”

“Here you have everything, museums, swimming pools, bars, why go any where else??!!”….and undoubtedly the same thing will occur in any part of Spain when you tell a Spaniard you are going else where…..

This was one of the many reasons I fell in love with the Spanish culture.  It was such a breath of fresh air in comparison to us Brits, who feel the need to moan about everything, our jobs, our homes, our culture, our roads. Which thanks to the Daily Mail is activily encouraged.
